Kristen Kohl is the CEO of Imperial Salon and Spa. She’s lived in Brevard County for her entire adult life and has a vested interest in the community where she has chosen to raise her two boys. She is an entrepreneur and a visionary who transformed Imperial from an eight-station hair salon to a multi-million dollar salon & spa unique to Brevard County. Kristen has taken her concept of the ideal spa and combined it with an unsurpassed staff and the finest products to create The Imperial Salon and Spa brand image. She has played an integral role in the development of the management team, staff, and services during each stage of growth. Her hands-on philosophy yielded a devoted and loyal staff --and innumerable satisfied clients. With Imperial Salon & Spa, she has built a successful foundation upon which to expand into other areas of Florida --and eventually into a nationally renowned salon and spa.

Dawn Russo


Director Of Operations - Born in Chicago and raised on Long Island, New York, Dawn joined the Imperial staff in 2002 as a Nail Technician. Not long after, she started to manage the Nail Department and then went on to become the Spa Director. Today, she is our Director of Operations, leading over 50 devoted, talented and extraordinary staff members. Dawn combines her experience as a service provider with keen management skills to produce a harmonious atmosphere within a fast-paced work environment.

Melissa Chappotin


Business Manager - Melissa loves contradiction: she is a scuba diver who can’t swim and a lover of roller coasters with a fear of heights! Originally from South Hill, Virginia, Melissa has lived in five states and now resides in Viera. With 20+ years of office experience, she enjoys spending her downtime at Disney or Universal studios with her family when she’s not actively volunteering with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America.

Peller Alwill


Event Coordinator - Originally from New York, Peller was brought up in the Southern Tropics. An Imperial Salon and Spa employee from years past, Peller became a flight attendant and relocated to San Francisco. After traveling for a few years and experiencing many other world famous day spas, Peller has come back to Florida to reside permanently here in Melbourne. My hopes are to bring all the wonderful experiences I have encountered to Imperial Salon and Spa, creating the Ultimate Relaxation Experience!

Phone Room Coordinator - Erika has a sunny disposition and it’s no wonder: she loves our beautiful Florida weather and spends as much time as possible outside and at the beach. An organized gal who likes to keep busy, you’re likely to see Erika at the front desk, busily checking in guests and setting future appointments. Erika is inspired by each person she meets; her hope is that others will pass along the happiness and contentment they find in their own lives.

Nikki Blankenship


Salon Manager - Nikki is a classic over-achiever! She is both a Hair Stylist AND a Nail Technician, and well on her way to becoming a Certified Redken Artist. We shouldn’t be surprised that she graduated at the top of her class from Redken’s cosmetology school (Salon Professional Academy) in Ames, Iowa and earned her Master Stylist designation in less than two years! In her five year career, Nikki has already attended numerous hair shows, participated in TIGI and OPI hands on classes, completed an Advanced Razor Cutting class and was singled out for accolades during the Big Sexy Hair Updo competition. Nikki firmly believes in teaching every client how to style their own hair and keep it in top condition. She also understands that trust and honesty are the foundation of a good stylist/client relationship. Nikki vows: I will never cut more than my client has agreed to.

Todd Case


A Redken Master Stylist and Colorist, Todd has been making people feel good about their hair...and themselves for 28 years. A specialist in Redken cutting, coloring, finish work and up-dos, Todd knows that if you look good, you feel great! After a Titusville boyhood, Todd owned his own busy and successful Cocoa Village salon before deciding to focus exclusively on making people happy and beautiful. He’s made Imperial his home for the last 17 years of his career. To get one of Todd’s famous smiles, just ask him about his miniature Daschund, Max.

Leslie definitely knows her way around a pair of scissors, cutting hair for the last 34 years! Originally from North Miami Beach, Leslie has numerous certifications, including that of Redken Master Stylist. She believes that the key to success for any stylist is to always, always listen to the client.

Sal Salvato


A big man with an even bigger smile, Sal first began styling hair in his hometown of Syracuse, New York 42 years ago. He has attended beauty colleges in the U.S. and Canada and received advanced cutting training at Van Iyke International. He owned a hair salon in Nashville, Tennessee during which time he worked on the elaborate hair styles of many Country Music stars. Sal owned a second salon in Boca Raton for 18 years. His extraordinary color sense has twice brought him top honors in competitions. As a member of prestigious InterCoiffure, Sal joined the ranks of the world’s best hairdressers. His work includes television makeovers as well as celebrity styling; most notably attending to the look of former First Lady Laura Bush. He had the opportunity to style former Governor Jeb Bush along with the governor’s children and other Bush family members. His advice to new stylists? First listen; then service your client to the best of your ability.

Judy Olszewski


A petite hair stylist with attitude, Judy’s professional career spans 40 years. She has seen trends come and go, but believes true style is ageless. A Redken Specialist, Judy has attended workshops and seminars too numerous to list. If you ask the Miami native’s advice, she may respond with the phrase made famous by Nike: Just do it!

Hola from Mirta! Originally from Cuba, Mirta lived in California before coming to Florida. Fluent in both Spanish and English, Mirta makes use of the mix of cultures to enhance her techniques. A Master Redken Stylist as well as a skilled nail technician, Mirta specializes in color, highlights and formal styling. We are glad to have Mirta’s diverse skill set here at Imperial Salon & Spa.

 

  

 

Jillian Marston

She graduated from the Academy of Cosmetology with her cosmetologist, esthetician, nail technician, and makeup artist licenses. Tiffany also does hair extensions. Tiffany stays updated on the latest trends in hairstyling and searches out everything new and exciting for her clients. She specializes in Airbrush Makeup and continued her education with Redkens Award Winning Specialist Program! She has done both hair and makeup for Ray Baldino and Space Coast Living magazine. After graduating with honors from Brevard Community College, Michael continued his education with Redken's award-winning specialist program. Using some of the most advanced products in the professional industry, Michael enhances each client's individual personality and style by translating the latest runway trends into their everyday look. "True beauty comes from within," he says, "never settle with a look which doesn't bring your personality to its full potential." He has designed hair for Ray Baldino and his work has been featured in Space Coast Living Magazine. Originally from N.Y, Stacey discovered a passion for helping people through natural health care while working with a chiropractor in the panhandle. After attending Space Coast Massage School, massage therapy was incorporated into that care. Upon relocating to Melbourne, she joined the Imperial team 8 years ago. In the 12 years she has been in Florida and Nationally licensed she has been helping people with therapeutic massage and client education for self care. She has a wide range of knowledge for therapeutic care including, swe-thai, neuromuscular and medical massage techniques as well as all we offer at Imperial. Her belief is that education is never ending in the massage field and everyone can benefit from massage. She can work out your problem areas or pamper you with our many relaxing massages.


  

Elaine Ewertz

Listening. Isn’t that just about the most important thing anyone can do for true understanding? Elaine makes it a point to listen first; taking the time to get to know her clients so that she can personalize their treatment. Her specialties are Deep Tissue massage and Lomi Lomi. Elaine graduated from Space Coast Health Institute in 2005 and believes her experience with chiropractic has influenced her style and understanding of deep tissue work. The Indiana native has been in Melbourne for 12 years and finds providing a relaxing massage is a genuine reward in itself.

Where’s the best place to study Thai Massage? In Thailand, of course where Angela mastered the 2000 years old method. Thai Massage uses a sequence of gentle, flowing movements, where the body is loosened and stretched with movements linked to Yoga. This unique type of massage focuses on both the physical and the energetic, with applied acupressure on the Sen energy lines of the body. The Licensed Massage Therapist has been practicing for six years and is also nationally board certified. In addition to traditional Thai Massage, Angela performs Swe-Thai Massage and Aromatherapy. She studied Yoga to better understand the many benefits of stretching, deep breathing and healthy circulation. The Tiffin, Ohio native loves living beachside in Brevard.

Aloha from Tammie, who comes to Imperial Salon from Big Island, Hawaii. A licensed massage therapist, Tammie specializes in Hawaiian cultural techniques such as Lomi Lomi in addition to Reiki and Swedish massage. She focuses on reducing mental stress and easing aches and pains; customizing each massage to the client’s desired experience. Lomi Lomi frees the body’s locked up connective tissues and reduce chronic pain. Tammie’s clients often report significant improvement in range of motion and a reduction in muscle pain. Demetri honors a broad range of soothing massage and healing modalities both Eastern and Western including: Neuro Muscular Therapy, Shiatsu, Energy Meridians, Hot Stone Therapy, Deep Tissue, Reiki and Postural Analysis. His balanced, holistic approach to wellness stems in part from learning and living across five continents. Megan holds a Makeup Artistry certificate of completion from Schweitzer Studios with specialties in the following areas: Bridal, Printwork, Camouflage and Advanced Eye Techniques as well as Application of Lash Extensions through Xtreme Lashes. Nail Specialist Shannon is a graduate of the Avanti Beauty School and has been practicing her decorative craft for nine years. This Cocoa Beach gal specializes in nail care, but has been in the beauty biz for 14 years, performing everything from professional makeup application to management in different retail salon and tanning settings. Shannon believes that consistency is very important and she strives to give all of her clients exceptional and consistent services. She has attended the Premiere Beauty Show for six consecutive years and plans to continue to educate herself in the industry and expand her list of credentials.
